ANNUAL
BUDGET
The Lincoln Township Trustee prepares and submits a budget for the upcoming year. As the Chief Financial Officer of Lincoln Township, the Trustee pays and records all claims, reports all expenditures, investments, debts and salaries, is responsible for keeping accurate records and follows the financial guidelines set out in Indiana Code.
CEMETERY
MAINTENENCE
The Lincoln Township Trustee provides maintenance and lawn care for the cemeteries located in the township that have no cemetery association or other resources. This includes cemeteries that have been abandoned.
FIRE
PROTECTION
The Lincoln Township Trustee is, by Indiana law, charged with the responsibility of providing fire protection and ambulance service for the areas of Lincoln Township that are not incorporated into the town of Brownsburg. This protection is provided through a partnership with the Brownsburg Fire Territory.
WEED
CONTROL
The Lincoln Township Trustee is responsible for enforcing weed control for detrimental/noxious weeds and neglected home lawns. The Trustee can also enforce homeowners of neglected lawns to maintain their property.
FINANCIAL
ASSISTANCE
The Lincoln Township Trustee is charged to provide poor relief by the most economical means available. Residents must show that they are unable to provide basic needs through personal effort and that they have exhausted all other means.
The trustee also cooperates with other agencies in their areas to deliver services needed.
BURIALS &
CREMATIONS
The Lincoln Township Trustee oversees the burial or cremation of unclaimed or indigent deceased. Burial assistance may be available when no other means of payment are available.
